Cybersafety Day - The Learning Technology Center 1 Central

Are You What You Post? The Digital Footprints We Leave
The Learning Technology Center 1 Central in collaboration with District 214 Forest View Educational Center is hosting a full day of Cybersafety presentations on Friday, February 6, 2009. The day will include sessions on predator awareness, current legislation regarding Internet safety in school curriculum, as well as an overview of some of the available resources for schools to prepare for Internet safety education. My presentation focuses on curricular resources that help raise the awareness of online profiles and their audience. In addition I will discuss the process for developing an Internet safety program for parents and community members

IL-TCE 2008 Conference - From Labs to Laptops

From Labs to Laptops: Facilitating the Transition to Anytime, Anywhere Learning
Co-presenter, Julie Haney, Technology Facilitator at Avoca West, District 37.

While some New York schools recently reported giving up on laptop programs, many more districts are addressing the challenges associated with mobile laptop carts and one-to-one initiatives by hiring technology integration specialists to bolster teacher confidence and ignite creativity. This presentation focused on the role of the tech facilitator/coach and their experiences working in districts committed to anytime, anywhere learning.
